Syrian Composer Malek Jandali
Days after Syrian-American composer and pianist Malek Jandali performed his protest song, “I am My Homeland” at a demonstration in front of the White House, security forces from the Assad Regime attacked his parents in their home in Syria. Malek Jandali studied at Queens University and became the first Arab-American composer to debut at Carnegie Hall. He joins us to tell his story and talk about his music and his homeland.
