Sheriff Lee Baca to Keynote ADC Civil Rights Luncheon
The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) is proud to announce that Sheriff Lee Baca of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will deliver keynote remarks at the ADC Civil Rights Luncheon at the annual ADC National Convention. The ADC Civil Rights Luncheon, held on Friday, June 22, 2012, serves as one of the primary forums for convention attendees to learn about issues impacting civil rights and liberties.
As Sheriff of the second largest city in the United States, Sheriff Baca has demonstrated commitment to non-discriminatory means of law enforcement, which are valued by the Arab American community. Sheriff Baca has also committed his department to strong involvement with minority communities.

ADC will also honor three distinguished individuals for their commitment to equality and justice at the luncheon. The awardees include, Pro Bono Attorney of the Year: Anton Hajjar – Principal with O’Donnell, Schwartz & Anderson, P.C; Friend in Government Award: P. David Lopez – General Counsel of the EEOC; and the Civil Rights Pioneer Award: Abdeen Jabara, attorney and activist.
