Rock & Rollin’ at Allegiant Stadium: Guns N Roses Are The First Rock Band At The Home Of Las Vegas Raiders
Rock n’ Roll fans and in particular, those who are huge fans of the Guns N Roses, will have been able to witness history recently, although that certainly is not something that the iconic group have trouble doing.
Friday, August 27, saw the legendary music group play the first rock concert to ever be played at the Allegiant Stadium and thus enter the history books of this impressive state-of-the-art sports venue situated in Sin City itself, Las Vegas.
Home to NFL franchise Las Vegas Raiders, Slash and co were able to wow their fans in Nevada’s 65,000-seat venue as they continued their highly successful U.S. tour that has been going since the end of July.
Allegiant Stadium was the first concert for Guns N Roses in Vegas for 2 years
Las Vegas residents have had to wait a while to see the Guns N Roses perform within their city, with the bands last performance being in November 2019, when they performed a three-hour concert as part of their “Not In This Lifetime” tour at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
The band, who are receiving support from Wolfgang Van Halen’s MAMMOTH WVH throughout their current tour across America, were chosen to be the first act to perform a rock concert at the new stadium, with Live Nation – who produced the gig – wanting to ensure they went big for their first show at the venue, as well.
The sports team who call the Allegiant Stadium home, the Las Vegas Raiders are yet to take to the field in a professional league match, although they will certainly be excited to get their chance to do so against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It will be a memorable moment for the franchise once they do play in their second game of the season, especially if they are able to win as they are provided odds of +185 by the best PA betting sites around, which may be considered a shock given that the Steelers are priced at -235.
In fact, the rock concert was one of the very few first events to take place since being opened, with musical performances from Illenium and Garth Brooks having taken place, sporting events such as a soccer match between USMNT and Mexico in the CONCACAF Gold Cup Final and even WWE’s SummerSlam event, whilst the Rolling Stones are also booked to make an appearance on November 6.
What is Next for Them?
Despite having been able to make history at the event, the performances are set to keep coming for the Guns N Roses, as the iconic group still have a plethora of gigs to perform their talents at with expectant fans excited to see them.
Slash (guitar), Duff McKagan (bass), Axl Rose (vocals) are all backed by Richard Fortus (guitar), Frank Ferrer (drums), Dizzy Reed and Melissa Resse (keyboards) and will continue to tour the country until the beginning of October where they will conclude with two dates at the Hard Rock Live Arena in Hollywood, Florida, on October 2 and 3.
