Political Cartoon: Indecision 2016
Arab Americans are facing one of the toughest decisions this election cycle. With both presumptive party nominees attacking the interests of Arab Americans through proposed legislation (banning Arab refugees, banning Muslims, passing anti-BDS legislation, increasing financial support to Israel, etc.), the decision is that much more difficult to make. While many Arab Americans are considering alternative candidates, such as Jill Stein of the Green Party or Gary Johnson of the Libertarian Party, some feel that this can be a wasted vote.
This political cartoon is a playful interpretation of the tough decision ahead of the Arab American community. As everyone knows, voting is a responsibility that should be taken seriously. As a politically active community, it would be unwise to sit out of the election process. Poor choices or not, Arab American voices are essential in determining the outcome of the next presidential election. It is up to the community to learn all it can about the candidates and choose carefully.
