Palestinian American supermodel, Bella Hadid and Jordan Barrett shared the spotlight on the cover of the coveted Vogue Australia’s September issue, in a photo shoot by Jackie Nickerson.

In an interview with Vogue Australia in April, Bella spoke passionately about her admiration of her heritage and her father’s Muslim faith. Her mother is from the Netherlands and her father, an immigrant from Palestine has lived in Syria, Lebanon, Greece and the United States. This has allowed her to experience different religions and cultures to form her own opinion outside of her Islamic faith.

Bella’s father, Mohamed Hadid, fled to many countries throughout the Middle East with much hardship, giving him strength, and knowledge to achieve his fortune. Mohamed is a self-made-man and knew he wanted a better life for himself and his children, beginning with reselling classic cars in Washington, D.C., to nightclub owner in Greece, to currently developing real estate in the United States. He is known for his resorts and luxury buildings, and now his children all have a successful careers, partially because of the success from their mother, Yolanda.

Bella’s mother, Yolanda,  blessed her children with her legacy of modeling. Bella was signed in 2014 with IMG agency, and in December 2016 was voted model of the year.

In addition to her success, like her father, she never lost her roots and was very offended by President Trump’s restrictive refugee movement. Humble to join the massive crowd in the streets of New York City, to protest against Trump’s No ban No wall protest.

Support from a major icon, such as Bella, stands loudly within the Arab American Community. According to Porter magazine, Bella mentioned her faith and support of the Islamic religion, “He (her father) was always religious, and he always prayed with us. I am proud to be a Muslim.” Her faith and knowledge of her religion allows her followers to understand a little bit more of the Islamic faith. Her standing up for the Arab American community and giving them a strong presence help the mainstream in America to eliminate the negative Anti-Arab perceptions.

Bella is still making her place in fashion. Recently, the front page of Vogue Australia created buzz, and captured much attention.  Rumors have already circulated about her love life with the model, Jordan Barrett, which has been confirmed by Bella herself. Hadid stated, “We are really close friends and it’s great to actually be photographed together.”

Additionally, she was captured on social media posting her selfies and took the win for the most likes and views. It’s not uncommon to hear about Bella in the media, especially, with her effortless sense of fashion. The 20 year old is living her life fully while practicing her islamic faith.

There will be more of the Bella Hadid and her sister, Gigi; their diverse background has truly impacted their success and acceptance in society which will be seen even more through publications, such as Vogue Australia, and social media.
