Al Arabiya English’s Showbiz reporter Simo Benbachir talks with Award-winning Arab Film maker Iyad Hajjaj to discuss his latest multi Award-winning feature film “Dreams I Never Had”. Hajjaj also discusses the struggles he faced to create Arabic Characters in Hollywood movies that are NOT terrorists. The film stars include Malcolm McDowell and Robin Givens alongside Iyad Hajjaj.
Hajjaj also talked about his upcoming Home Invasion Action/Thriller movie “Ten and A Half Minutes”, Based on True Events. where the home intruder was an american man and the hero, who defended his family and his neighborhood, is an Arab. Hajjaj added that he anticipates greater struggle to make the movie as Hollywood executives will oppose having the stereotype of Arabs being portrayed as terrorists and the American man is the Hero THEORY will be reversed in his story.
“With God’s help the movie will be made, I just hope that I get the financial support I need from my Arab brothers and sisters”, Hajjaj added.
