Washington, DC – David Hamod, President & CEO of the National U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce (NUSACC), announced today that Ambassador (ret.) Gordon Gray has joined NUSACC as its new Executive Vice President.
“I am very pleased to announce Ambassador Gray’s appointment as Executive Vice President. NUSACC will draw on his talents, his 35 years of public service, and his broad experience with the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to redouble our efforts to expand economic ties between the United States and the Arab world,” Hamod said. “Throughout his Foreign Service career, Ambassador Gray worked successfully to identify commercial opportunities for U.S. businesses, and NUSACC looks forward to capitalizing on his creativity and expertise as we continue to promote and expand U.S.-Arab economic opportunities,” Hamod concluded.
Commenting on his appointment, Ambassador Gray said “I am excited to join the NUSACC team because it is a dynamic organization dedicated to building better economic ties between Americans and Arabs, a mission that is even more important today than it was when NUSACC was established nearly fifty years ago. I look forward to working with NUSACC’s members throughout the United States, the Middle East, and North Africa.”
Ambassador Gray recently retired from the U.S. Government after 35 years of service that included tours as Ambassador to Tunisia at the start of the Arab Spring and as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs. He also served abroad in Iraq, Egypt, Canada, Jordan, Pakistan, and Morocco, where he began his career as a Peace Corps volunteer.
