As we welcome the New Year, it’s time to reflect on the achievements and progress made by the Arab American community in 2024. This year, the Arab America Foundation (AAF) has continued its mission to promote Arab heritage, challenge stereotypes, and empower communities through impactful initiatives. From celebrating exceptional leaders to fostering cultural awareness, we have much to be proud of. As we look ahead, let’s build on the momentum of this year’s accomplishments and continue working toward a brighter future for Arab Americans. Arab America contributing writer, Arwa Almasaari, reflects on these significant achievements from 2024.
Heritage and Leadership Initiative
Throughout 2024, the Arab America Foundation highlighted the contributions of Arab Americans across generations. Its signature programs—such as the 40 Under 40, 30 Under 30, and 20 Under 20 awards—recognized outstanding individuals who excelled in their fields while staying deeply connected to their heritage. These honorees showcased the talent and diversity within the Arab American community, inspiring others to pursue excellence and make a difference.
National Arab American Heritage Month (NAAHM) in April was another significant milestone, with celebrations reaching new heights. Through grassroots efforts, public proclamations, and cultural events nationwide, Arab Americans came together to share their stories and celebrate their heritage. These efforts extended beyond the community, fostering greater awareness and appreciation of Arab culture among the broader public.
CONNECT Summit 2024
One of the year’s highlights was the CONNECT Arab America: Empowerment Summit, held in Dearborn, Michigan. This gathering brought together hundreds of Arab Americans from across the country to engage in meaningful discussions, celebrate shared values, and build lasting connections. With panels on leadership, entrepreneurship, media representation, and more, the summit provided a platform for dialogue and collaboration. It also showcased the richness of Arab culture through performances, art, and storytelling.
The summit and other initiatives reminded us of the importance of unity and the power of collective action. By fostering connections and empowering individuals, the AAF continues to strengthen our Arab American community.
Arab America E-Newsletter
The Arab America E-Newsletter started in 2007. It has since served as a key communication tool for the Arab America Foundation, keeping subscribers informed about important developments, events, and accomplishments within the Arab American community. In 2024, the Arab America E-Newsletter published over 400 articles, featuring contributions from more than 25 writers, including guest authors. These articles covered a broad range of topics, showcasing the diverse voices and perspectives within the Arab American community. Looking Ahead

The New Year brings an opportunity to build on this momentum, deepening the commitment to preserving heritage, empowering future leaders, and fostering understanding across communities. Together, Arab Americans are shaping a brighter future—one that honors their roots while looking forward with hope and determination.
