The city of Orlando in Central Florida will pay tribute to the Kingdom of Morocco by hosting the first annual Moroccan Heritage Night at the Orlando Magic’s NBA game, where Morocco’s colors will be on display and its National Flag will be proudly flying high.

The evening of November 6, 2015 will showcase the richness of the Kingdom’s patrimony and culture while interacting with the Central Florida community. The event will take place in downtown Orlando at the Magic’s home venue, the Amway Center.

Beginning at 6:00 pm local time, the audience will be delighted with a special presentation of Morocco’s folklore consisting of pre-game and halftime Moroccan dance and song performances, interactions with the NBA players, pre and post-game, as well as other recognitions to the Moroccan diaspora in Central Florida.

The Moroccan Heritage Night celebration will kick off the first match of the Magic league in the 2015-2016 season when the hometown team will ‘tip off’ against the Toronto Raptors at 7:00 pm.

The Amway Center is expected to attract nearly 15,000 spectators for this NBA match. They will be able to enjoy and share in a piece of Morocco’s history and culture, under the red and green colors of the Kingdom’s National Flag waving throughout the evening.

This tribute is presented by the Moroccan American Chamber of Commerce (MACC) in collaboration with its partners and sponsors, the city’s own Orlando Magic NBA Team, and the Moroccan diaspora of Central Florida’s diverse community.

According to MACC’s Vice President, Younes Bougrine and Orlando Magic’s Account Executive Matan Cohen, the Moroccan Heritage Night will coincide with Morocco’s commemoration of the historic Green March that took place on November 6, 1975.

Those in attendance will have the opportunity to learn and embrace the traditions and world-renowned beauty of the Moroccan culture while at the same time enjoying an exciting night of basketball.
