All eyes were on model Imaan Hammam at the Moschino Pre-Fall Show 2020 in New York. The Moroccan-Egyptian fashion icon strut down the makeshift runway (aka a subway car,) a notion many adored, earlier this week.
“The ailing MTA could use a guy like Jeremy Scott. His Moschino show at the Transit Museum tonight was the best time anybody’s had on the New York subway in, well, just about ever,” wrote Vogue’s Nicole Phelps.
Donning a zippered grey tracksuit, soft fur boa, gold chains, Timberland boots, and a single face tattoo, Hammam commanded attention. From the moment the show began until her final appearance, she effortlessly rocked both the opening and closing outfits.
The end to an astounding night saw Hammam adorned with an embellished plunging neckline gown, gold door knocker earrings, and – as part of Moschino’s “oversized” theme – a gigantic boom box purse.

And the final and closing look
The Holland-born 23-year-old walked the Moschino runway alongside model and Vitiligo spokesperson Winnie Harlow, Halima Aden, and Stella Maxwell.
Aden, the first hijab-wearing model, appeared wearing a graphic white suit with illustrations (seemingly inspired by Versace) as well as an oversized ball-cap on top of her hijab.
Though big names appeared throughout the show, many twitter users only had eyes for Hammam.
Utter perfection
She’s a “queen” to many
Model of the Year 2020
Those who don’t know her, now do
From back-to-back Vogue magazine covers and the British Fashion Awards, to the Milan Fashion Week and other Moschino shows, Hammam has had a very busy year.
Ever since she was discovered at the Amsterdam Central Station at the age of 13, the Arab-African model has been featured in campaigns, magazine covers, and fashion shows.
She’s worked with high street retailers such as H&M and TopShop, as well as luxury brands such as Moschino, Versace, Alexander McQueen, etc.
She made her fashion debut in 2013 after walking for some of the most loved high-end brands in the world. By high-end, we mean Givenchy, Hermes, Valentino, and such.
That same year she became the favored subject of multiple acclaimed photographers like Annie Leibovitz, Zoe Ghertner, Craig McDean, and many more.
Hammam also made it to models.com’s TOP 50 and Top Sexiest lists.
“This fashion superstar is blessed with that effortless, old school kind of sexiness. The type that is apparent even without a portfolio of swimwear and lingerie campaigns. Instead, Imaan’s magnetism comes from a sense of complete self-assurance, fearless fierceness, and unapologetic confidence. Imaan owns it,” the fashion website wrote in their description.
