Middle East Institute Scholar Publishes New Book: Christians in Egypt
The Middle East Institute’s Adjunct Scholar, Dr. Andrea B. Rugh, has recently published an exciting new book titled Christians in Egypt.
The book is a timely work that documents Christian responses to growing sectarianism in Egyptian society. Based on five years of extensive research at a social service center catering to poor Christians in Cairo, the book uses both a historical and anthropological approach to examine how local Christian communities work to maintain and improve their minority status.
The book is available for review at the Middle East Institute’s Oman Library in Washington, DC.
