Michigan Commission on Middle Eastern American Affairs to Hold Inaugural Meeting in Lansing on Tuesday, Sept. 29
Lansing, MI – The Commission on Middle Eastern American Affairs (CMEAA) will hold its first public meeting in Lansing on , beginning at, on the 8 Floor of the Capitol Tower Building, 110 West Michigan Avenue in Lansing.
Governor Rick Snyder is scheduled to attend and address the Commission at the beginning of the meeting.
Assistant Attorney General Ron Robinson will provide Commissioners with a brief orientation on the Open Meeting Act and FOIA. Commissioners also will begin work on establishing the Commission’s purpose, priority areas and action items; review Commission bylaws; and schedule quarterly meetings for 2016.
Individuals who wish to address the Commission will have the opportunity to speak during the public comment period.

The CMEAA is housed within the Michigan Department of Civil Rights (MDCR). MDCR is charged with investigating and resolving discrimination complaints and works to prevent discrimination through educational programs that promote voluntary compliance with civil rights laws.
