Liverpool Arab Arts Festival in running for national award

posted on: Jun 22, 2015

Liverpool Arab Arts Festival (LAAF) has been nominated for the UK’s largest diversity awards.

But the annual festival, which took place earlier this month, needs the public vote to help it win the Community Organisation Award – Race, Religion and Faith accolade at the 2015 National Diversity Awards.

The awards celebrate the achievements of positive role models and community organisations from across the UK, and aim to recognise nominees in their respective fields of diversity including age, disability, gender, race, faith, religion and sexual orientation.

LAAF chairman Taher Qassim said: “We are hoping our audiences, artists, partners and the people of this good city and beyond, will help us through to the next stage of the awards.

“It would be fantastic if our contribution to the knowledge and understanding of the life, society and culture of Arab people was acknowledged in this way.”
