There’s a lot of interesting stuff happening at the Arab American National Museum in Dearborn, so the Freep’s “Detours” podcast stopped by to get the latest on its film festival involvement, a new photo exhibit and more.
Here are the details on the new installment of the Free Press’ arts and entertainment podcast:
Designed to promote and preserve Arab-American culture, the AANM has a lot happening this weekend. First, there’s the Saturday opening of the new exhibit “What We Carried: Fragments from the Cradle of Civilization,” in which photographer Jim Lommasson invited Syrian and Iraqi refugees to share an important personal artifact connected to the decision to leave their homelands. It runs through Oct. 23. This week, it announced the lineup for its annual Concert of Colors music diversity festival. Plus, its Arab American Film Festival kicks off this week, running Friday-June 12 in conjunction with Cinetopia International Film Festival.
