After more than three years serving the residents of the the twelfth congressional district Shelly Burgor is retiring from U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell’s office.

Burgor began working for retired Rep. John Dingell in 2012, and stayed on when Debbie took office earlier this year.

“For years, Shelly has been a steadfast, passionate advocate for our students, seniors and families,” Debbie Dingell said. “She tackles every challenge with energy, determination and humor, and her commitment to the people of the 12th District is unmatched. We wish Shelly all the best in her well-deserved retirement and thank her for her tireless work that has benefitted countless people in Southeast Michigan and beyond. She will be greatly missed.”

The retirement is set for Sept. 23. She will be replaced by Jannine Kadri, a Dearborn resident.

Kadri will be the new constituent services representative at Dingell’s Dearborn office. She will oversee immigration casework and manage outreach to the Arab American community and other special projects.

She comes to Dingell from the law offices of Farhat Law in Dearborn where she was a legal assistant. Prior to that Kadri worked as an Arabic-English translator at the Arab American Language Institute.

“It is with great enthusiasm that I join Congresswoman Dingell’s team,” Kadri said. “I share her passion for helping people and it is an honor to serve the people of the 12th District.”

Dingell was happy to announce the hiring of her newest staffer.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jannine to our team and know that her unique background and skillset will be a huge asset to our district staff team,” Dingell said. “Representing the people of Michigan’s 12th District is our top priority, and we will continue working hard to ensure their voices are heard and issues addressed.”
