LAHC plans to award $100,000 in scholarships during Annual Awards Gala
LAHC is happy to announce its plan to award nearly $100,000 in scholarships to high achieving students in the community. These awards will be presented during the organization’s 28th Annual Awards Gala scheduled to take place on Friday, May 6th, 2016, at the Edward Village Michigan-Hotel and Convention Center, formerly known as the Royal Dearborn Hotel & Convention Center. This high profile event draws annually over twelve hundred people from the corporate, government and grassroots community and is considered one of the most prestigious sit down dinners in Southeast Michigan. The mission of the LAHC Scholarship Program is to provide financial support to deserving students assisting them in their pursuit of higher education. The amount of the scholarship ranges from $1,000 all the way up to $16,000 per student, some of which are renewable up to eight semesters. To date, LAHC has invested nearly 1.3 million dollars in educational scholarships throughout the past twenty eight years. Moreover, the LAHC is excited to announce the 2016 Excellence and Great Achievements Award recipients Mr. Ziad Ojalkli, Group Vice President, Government & Community Relations at Ford Motor Company and Ms. Veronika Scott, Founder and CEO of the Empowerment Plan in Detroit.
