LAHC to distribute 1200 backpacks filled with school supplies in partnership with various law enforcement agencies

LAHC- Leaders Advancing and Helping Community in partnership with the Dearborn Police Department, FBI- Detroit, Department of Homeland Security, Office of the Wayne County Sheriff and other law enforcement agencies will distribute a total of 1200 backpacks to students in need.

 Various distribution events are scheduled to take place throughout Wayne County. On September 8th, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., volunteers will visit Hamilton Academy in Detroit and serve students with Backpacks filled with school supplies in Preparation of the school year.

 The Second Distribution will take place on September 15th, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Salina Elementary in Dearborn. Members of the Dearborn Police Department, FBI among others will be present on site to assist in the distribution.

 Backpacks will be provided only to students attending these schools. This event is not open to the public due to limited supplies.

 “It is through these programs that we can provide students with items necessary for their educational advancement.” Stated LAHC Executive Director Wassim Mahfouz. “We are thankful to our sponsors: Walmart, Molina Healthcare and Midwest Recycling who continue to support these initiatives and allow us the opportunity to extend a helping hand to communities in need in the state of Michigan.” Finished Mahfouz.
