Jordanian Antioch student to show photos from country

Yellow Springs Arts Council, the gallery that provides opportunities for member artists to showcase local works, has paired with Jordanian and Antioch College student Jumana Snow for an event with a twist.

The event, “Captivating Jordan,” will bring better insight to understanding the Middle Eastern country of Jordan. It is 6 to 9 p.m., Friday, June 26 at the Yellow Springs Arts
Council, 111 Corry St.

The night will be filled with Arabian ambiance; showing pictures of famous landmarks and people of Jordan, Jordanian food, Arabic music, Arabic coffee, Arabian incense, artifacts, traditional Jordanian dress, and a Bedouin tent.

Activities include: a speech about Jordan , a story about living in Jordan, Arabic pickle sales, Henna Tattoo’s, and picture taking in the Bedouin tent.

“I am extremely excited at the prospect of being able to bring my culture and the beauty of Jordan, to the people of Yellow Springs,” said Snow, also a Miller Fellow working at the YSAC. “It is a great opportunity for them to better see that life in the Middle East is exciting and diverse.”
