The International Champions Cup is coming to the U.S.
It’s official: Some of the world’s greatest soccer teams are coming to the U.S. this summer for the International Champions Cup. Arab Americans are already getting excited to find a match nearby.
One team playing that we have our eye on is Real Madrid – a Palestinian-friendly team known for its charitable work in Gaza and the West Bank. One of Real Madrid’s star players is Cristiano Ronaldo who just last week met with Ahmed Dawabsheh. Ahmed is the five-year-old Palestinian boy who survived when Israeli settlers firebombed his house, killing the rest of his family last summer. Even if you’re not a Real Madrid fan, this story touches the heart.
Matches are coming to Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, and other states. To find the full schedule and tickets, visit the International Champions Cup website.
