IDC Mourns Tragic Loss of Life in Terrorist Attacks in Paris. Calls International Community to Decisive Action to defeat ISIS

posted on: Nov 15, 2015

Washington DC- On November 14, 2015, IDC President Toufic Baaklini made the following statement:

“In Defense of Christians (IDC) shares the horror and indignation of the international community in the wake of the barbaric crimes of terror that took place in Paris yesterday evening. The worst violence witnessed in France since World War II, President Francois Hollande has named the offense by ISIS “an act of war.” We join our voice with world leaders and all people of good will in condemning the violence, the latest in a long chain of bloodshed and terror inflicted by ISIS on innocent civilians and communities.

IDC calls on the Obama administration to use all means at its disposal to work with the international community to end the ISIS occupation of portions of Iraq and Syria and create political conditions for the displaced citizens of those countries to return to their homes. IDC further condemns any nation, organization, or individual giving material and financial support to ISIS in Syria, Iraq, and elsewhere, and calls upon the international community to be identify and prosecute those parties.

We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the at least 128 people who lost their lives in the attacks. May the swift and decisive response of the international community speak to the incalculable nature of their loss.”
