Festival Sweets Committee Needs You!
A MESSAGE FROM THE BAKERY COMMITTEE
Good morning! Hope all is well.
Mary Misleh and I are once again heading up the bakery for our annual bazaar. And, as we have done in the past, we are asking for parishioners to assist by donating the ingredients, or a monetary donation towards the ingredients (prices are high this year!). We have also scheduled five baking sessions (I’ve cleared these dates with Barbara). So, can you please include below in the next three Sunday bulletins, through 2 August? And, we would also appreciate the same information be sent out to our parish via email each week. Please let me know if you have any questions.
BAZAAR – REQUEST FROM BAKERY COMMITTEE
Our annual bazaar will be here before you know it, and preparations are already underway by the bakery committee to ensure we once again have a successful and profitable weekend. In an effort to realize as much profit as possible, we are seeking donations of ingredients needed for the various baked pastries, or monetary donations towards the purchase of these ingredients.
The following items/amounts are needed (any portion of the amounts would be appreciated):
- Filo Dough – 3 cases (24 – 1 lb. boxes per case)
- Knafee Dough – 3 cases (12 – 1 lb. boxes per case)
- Walnuts- 70 lbs.
- Butter – 100 lbs.
- Sugar (refined, white) – 150 lbs.
- All Purpose Flour – 15 lbs.
- Semolina, Fine – 20 lbs.
- Cream of Wheat (Farina) – 5 lbs.
If you are able to assist with any of the items listed, please let us know (at the emails provided below) which item and the portion you are able to donate (ex. 1 case of filo, or 5 lbs of butter, or 10 lbs of walnuts, etc.) and, which Sunday you will be dropping off your item(s) at the church. It is very important to let us know in advance what you will be donating so that we don’t have too much of any one item, and to ensure we are there to receive your donation. We request all donations by NO LATER THAN 2 August. We thank you in advance for any donation you are able to make.
In addition, we’re calling on all bakers to come and join us for as many of the baking sessions as you can! mAll sessions begin at 10:00 am. Here is the schedule:
