During our gathering, a panel of experts including Mitchel Plitnick, a political analyst and the president of ReThinking Foreign Policy, will focus on the concerning rise of McCarthyist backlash directed towards pro-Palestinian voices, particularly within student groups across colleges and universities nationwide. These individuals, while peacefully exercising their right to free speech, have been unjustly accused of antisemitism and baseless affiliations with foreign adversaries. Furthermore, there have been troubling calls for federal law enforcement to launch investigations into alleged material support.
It is crucial for us to address and combat such intimidation tactics, which not only undermine the fundamental principles of free expression but also unfairly stigmatize legitimate political discourse.
