Join us for this screening followed by a discussion with Omar Sabha, whose resettlement story is featured in the film, Oscar-winning filmmaker Megan Mylan, and Nazanin Ash, CEO of Welcome.US.
This stirring and poignant non-fiction narrative presents portraits of several Syrian families filmed across five countries as they reveal the impact of war, separation, and displacement. The specific stories in the lives of these displaced persons paint a wider picture of the emotional and psychological toil that accompanies forced relocation, family rupture, and state violence. (Megan Mylan, 2021, Arabic and English with English subtitles, DCP, 98 minutes)
