PALESTINE: Hope For Change

Iowans for Palestine, in collaboration with the Iowa City Chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace, Iowa City Action for Palestine, The First United Methodist Church, The Humanitarian Operations and Public Education (HOPE) Foundation, and other local and regional groups, is hosting an all-day conference on Saturday, April 26, 2025, titled Palestine: Hope for Change Conference. The purpose of the conference is to increase awareness and understanding of the history and current struggles facing the Palestinian people. Conference attendees will learn about the realities of Palestinian life under Israel’s 75+ year occupation, the state of water issues and rights, public health concerns including mental health issues and legal issues related to violation of international laws and genocide. Attendees will also hear real-life stories from local Palestinians about life in Palestine. Additionally, there will be a catered Middle Eastern lunch, art displays, information related to local groups addressing the needs of Palestinians, and workshops about actions attendees can take on behalf of Palestinian human rights.
