April 25 & April 26: Estevanico: Highlighting the Journey of Mustafa Azemmouri

Mustafa Azemmouri is the first known Arab and African explorer of North America. In partnership with the Arab-American Educational Foundation (AAEF), the Arab-American Educational Foundation Center for Arab Studies (CAS) at the University of Houston, and the Moroccan Society of Houston (MSH)

• Friday, April 25, 7:00 p.m.: Reception at 7:00 PM at the ACC, followed by keynote speaker Dr. Abdelkader Jamoussi and a documentary screening on Estevanico

Saturday, April 26, 10:00 a.m.: Panel Discussion at 10:00 AM at the University of Houston’s Arab-American Educational Foundation Center for Arab Studies (CAS), moderated by Dr. Norah Gharal, Professor of Colonial Mexican History.
