Join us for an unforgettable cultural experience as The Traditional Music Society proudly presents its annual fall concert, “Music from the Middle East!” This event will explore the rich and diverse origins of Middle Eastern music and belly dance, tracing their roots from Egypt, North Africa, and ancient Mesopotamia.
Event Highlights:
- Bayati: Kansas City’s only Arabic music ensemble, directed by the talented multi-instrumentalist Nick Amir Baker.
- Kimberly Guanciale: A renowned belly dancer from Syracuse, NY, who will dazzle you with her extraordinary performances.
- Gerald Trimble: Our FEATURED ARTIST, a prominent musician known for his unique fusion exploring the connections of Celtic, jazz , baroque, middle eastern and Indian music. Gerald and his group, Jambaroque will perform selections from Turkish, Armenian, Kurdish and Persian traditions.
Experience the authenticity of Middle Eastern music through traditional instruments and time-honored dances. Additionally, enjoy a special presentation by the Traditional Music Society’s very own Soundz of Africa ensemble.
