Guedra Blessing Dance Ritual: A Traditional North African Trance Dance
The Guedra is a North African Desert dance that is meant to share good energy, peace, and spiritual love transmitted from the depths of the dancers’ soul. In this ritual led by Amel Tafsout you will first learn syncopated clapping, chanting, and body movements. After that you will take what you have learned and put it into practice. The idea is to clap, chant, and dance with the support of one another so that each person can fall into trance.
This is not your average “new age” ritual. Amel Tafsout descends directly from a bloodline of “wali” (arabic for shaman/energy worker/healer/etc.). Amel brings ancient wisdom and energy along with her while performing work and leading rituals. You will be sure to leave feeling lighter and maybe even changed forever, as some people say.
This is a unique opportunity to learn and practice a traditional trance ceremony from the depths of the North African Desert. If your nervous about coming, that means you’re the one who should show up. See you there!
