Our planet is suffering from human-induced climate change, overexploitation, habitat destruction, pollution, wars, colonialism, and other effects. These cause massive destabilization and suffering that impact all living forms including us humans. Sustainable human and natural communities are achievable and dependent on offering nature-based solutions. Further, we note that environmental and climate injustice can be challenged by mobilizing people. Increasingly popular resistance helps address challenges ranging from climate change to economic inequality to racism/colonialism. Dr. Qumsiyeh will discuss examples of challenges and solutions along the road to sustainability with a focus on Palestine.
