Join us at the Roxie Theater for an evening screening of A State of Passion Film & Discussion.
After 43 days under constant bombardment in Gaza’s Al-Shifa and Al-Ahli hospitals, British-Palestinian reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Ghassan Abu Sittah, bore witness to a genocide unfolding from the perspective of a physician. He witnessed unfathomable horrors from lacerated bodies, to amputations without anesthetics, orphaned children with no surviving family, and deliberate targeting of medics and hospital facilities. This critical documentary highlights the urgent need to resist the normalization of targeting healthcare workers and infrastructure in conflict and the role that healthcare workers must play to stop genocides. A post-screening discussion will include a discussion about how healthcare workers have been targeted and silenced across the West as a tactic to accelerate the annihilation of Palestinian people and the ongoing plight to advocate for the right to health.
