On Day 4 of the Connect Arab America: Empowerment Summit you will meet some of Arab Influencers that are making a difference through Social Media and Entertainment. Connect Arab America will take place Feb. 1-5, 2021 from 7-8 pm ET. Celebrate Arab American unity, heritage, and identity with discussions from exciting speakers in public service, cultural institutions, business innovators, influencers, and exciting artists. Meet the Panelists
Shereen Ahmed | Moderator
Shereen Ahmed is a multi-talented singer and actress currently starring as Eliza Doolittle in the first national tour of My Fair Lady. She has been recognized as the first woman of color in Broadway and West End history to portray the role, performing as Eliza in the 2018 Broadway revival at the Lincoln Center Theater. Shereen was recently spotlighted as one of ‘40 Under 40’ accomplished Arab Americans in the United States by the Arab America Foundation for her work in the theatre. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology & Anthropology with a concentration in Criminal Justice from Towson University. Her artistic collaborations inspire conversations on representation, inclusion, and equity through her art, activism, and meaningful conversation.
Saif Shawaf
Saif Shawaf is a Syrian Canadian influencer with a wide platform through Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Vine, and Instagram. Initially called ThatArabLife, Saif has showcased his Arab identity by creating relatable comedic content that targets his Arab audience. Before becoming an influencer, Saif was accepted into McMaster University and flight school where he became a licensed pilot. Saif was born in Saudi Arabia and immigrated to Canada at the age of three. He moved back to Saudi Arabia in 2000 then lived in Dubai, China and back to Canada shortly after.
Faiza Rammuny
Faiza Rammuny is an Instagram and YouTube relationship advisor known for her comedic content and her blog; Expired and Fabulous. Faiza started her blog as a way to talk about her experiences with relationships and love. She features topics on religion, dating, fashion, and lifestyle. She has over 370k followers on Instagram, over 400k on her TikTok, and over 60k subscribers on her YouTube channel.
Mai Kakish
Mai Kakish is the writer andcook behind her blog and social media persona @AlmondAndFig. She grew up in Palestine and moved to Chicago to go to college and currently resides with her family. She started being a foodie to remember her childhood and home in Palestine. Her blog and Instagram are a declaration of her love for her culture.
Salem Furrha and Family
Salem Furrha is a TikTok influencer with a family of eight and four grandchildren. They are a very close-nit family that love to be around each other. Their goal with their TikTok platform is to educate people on Arab culture and make them laugh and smile. The Furrha family moved out to California in 2011 and have lived in Michigan previously. Their decision to move to California has helped them with their social platform.
