“Botched” is an American Television show centered on the mishaps of plastic surgery and the surgeons who fix the mistakes. The show features two doctors who help people recover from surgery mishaps.

One of the doctors is Lebanese American Dr. Paul Nassif who is definitely not afraid to show off his Arab side. In this particular segment, the “botched” patient wants to have her nose redone after going to a surgeon who removed a crucial bone in the nose.

Dr. Nassif, a specialist in rhinoplasty, was filmed during a consultation with an Arab American patient. During the segment, Dr. Nassif brings up the “dabke”and jokes with the patient, stating that if she’s not careful he will ask her to do the dance. He receives a slight berating from the other doctor on the show for incorporating his heritage into the meeting, but that does not deter him.

Dr. Nassif also refers to the grape leaves when discussing her nose tissue, to make the patient feel more comfortable with working with him. At the end of the consultation, he tells her, “If you’re getting married in 6 months, you should be pretty good, inshallah”, meaning God willing, the quintessential Arabic expression used under all circumstances.

Dr. Nassif has also appeared in numerous other television shows to discuss cosmetic surgery. He used to be married to Adrienne Maloof, another Arab American television personality known for her participation on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Mallof is also the daughter of billionaire George Maloof who started Maloof Companies, which has stakes in famous business, such as the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

In southern California, Arab Americans can be found dwelling in the lifestyles of the rich and famous, too.
