Self-taught photographer, Mous Lamrabat, mixes Moroccan heritage with a Western twist. The undoubtedly unique clash has caught global attention, including a feature on Vogue, and is giving fashion photography a run for it’s money with these uncommon approaches.
Raised in Belgium, the artist fused his experiences with his Arab heritage, inventing a one-of-a-kind concept. With his background in interior design, photography was a piece of cake. He merged both which influenced his creativity, using items from his surroundings and childhood.
When asked about his vision, Mous told Vogue “I want to put ‘us’ in a better spotlight. I’m Moroccan, I’m a Muslim, I’m African, people see me as Arabic, so that is like 4 minorities into one! Whatever I do as a person or an artist, I’m always representing those minorities without even having a choice”. Mous is very keen on sending a good message about his culture and religion through the power of a lens
