Arab American Museum Hosts DSO Musicians for Neighborhood Recital
Fresh from their triumphant Fox Theatre concert appearance with Detroit’s musical bad boy, Kid Rock, earlier this month, members of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra come to the Arab American National Museum in Dearborn for a decidedly quieter performance of classical chamber works in the Museum’s intimate, 156-seat Auditorium.
This dynamic, eclectic program presents six DSO musicians as soloists and chamber musicians; the featured selection is the Sergei Prokofiev’s Quintet for Oboe, Clarinet, Violin, Viola and Double Bass, Op. 39 (1923) in G minor. The complete program appears below, along with links to musician biographies.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and youth under age 18, in advance HERE and at the door; tickets are also available through the DSO Box Office at 313.576.5111. This performance is part of a series of DSO concerts taking place throughout southeast Michigan; click HERE to view a list of upcoming performances.
The DSO and the Arab American National Museum are longtime partners in serving the community, most visibly through an ongoing collaboration on the annual Concert of Colors free diversity-themed musical festival every July in downtown Detroit.
