Arab America Television launches new improved platform and innovative programming

Arab America (www.arabamerica.com)is proud to introduce new cutting-edge streaming technology and innovative programming. With the launching of new improved software, AATV now offers hi-def resolution for all platforms and much faster download speeds. The new programming format offers an expanded look at Arab-Americans, Arab culture, social issues, and the arts.

“We are excited that Arab America Television offers exposure for Arab American artists and filmmakers, says Warren David, president of Arab America, he went on to say, “Our goal is to give artists a venue where they can gain exposure with Arab American and mainstream audiences.”

New programming includes:

 “Spotlight on Culture” is a new segment shown in one hour increments, at 12am, 4am, 8am, 12pm, 4pm and 8pm.  Each segment features an eclectic mix of culture including; the arts, cooking, comedy, and Arab music from all genres including classical, jazz, pop, rap, hip-hop and rock.  Some of the artists featured include; Fairouz, The National Arab Orchestra, Umm Kulthum, Simon Shaheen, Reem Kelani, Chantal, Yassin Algero, Tarek Yamani, The Mesto Orchestra, AutoStrad, The Arabic Rock Orchestra, Shahin El-Abkary, Aida Nadeem, Ashley Nemeh, Lydia Lyons, Karim Nagi, Foty Fusion, and more to come in the coming months.

 A new daily prime time viewer block, (9pm-12am) will feature the premiere of Sleepless in Gaza & Jerusalem, a ninety part Palestinian reality series which is a video diary of young Palestinian women living in Gaza, Jerusalem and the West Bank. The reality series documents the real life experiences of Palestinians living under occupation. The block will also include Cinema Arabesque, an assortment of classic Arab films, and a previously streamed series, Arab American Stories.

 Additionally, two new documentaries will stream for the first time including; Voices Across the Divide, a film about survivors of the Palestinian Nakba, and Cedars in the Pines, which explores the history of the Lebanese community in North Carolina.

 Finally, many popular documentaries will return including; American Radical: The Trials of Norman Finkelstein, Reel Bad Arabs, and Selves and Others: A Portrait of Edward Said, to name just a few.

 Launched in January, 2015, Arab America Television is a 24 hour web-based linear channel streaming in North America via the web.  Additionally, it can be accessed on smart devices through Arab America’s App for Android and iPhone, Google TV, and Apple TV.  As the first channel to stream educational and cultural content about the Arab world and Arab Americans, Arab America Television is a platform for award winning documentaries, feature films, comedy, and music.
