Arab America Poll: Joe Biden Leads Donald Trump by 48 Points Among Arab Americans
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(WASHINGTON DC, November 1, 2020) As of November 1st, an Arab America (www.arabamerica.com) online poll of Arab Americans across the country shows that Vice President Joe Biden is leading President Donald Trump by 48 points.
The poll was conducted asking respondents the question: Which presidential candidate best serves the interests of the Arab American community? 74% said Biden best serves the needs of the Arab American community as opposed to 26% percent for Trump. 1,304 respondents voted via a widget that was placed on the Arab America home page.
“This poll includes a cross-section of diverse Arab Americans from across the U.S.,” said Warren David, president of Arab America. He went on to say, “the reasons the poll favors Biden may be that key issues such as civil rights, immigration, and democracy are important to Arab Americans.”
Although some Arab Americans have criticized Biden’s lack of support regarding Palestinian independence, many back him in wake of Trump’s policies to support the move of the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, U.S. recognition of the annexation of the Golan Heights, cutting UNRWA aid to Palestinians, and for supporting Israel’s annexation of Israeli settlements.
