(Washington, D.C., October 23, 2024) The Arab America Foundation is excited to announce that Texas Team Leader Stefan Ateek will receive the MVP-Most Valuable Person Award for 2024 at the CONNECT Arab America: Empowerment Summit on Saturday, October 26, 2022, at 5:30 pm at the Ford Comunity and Performing Arts Center, in Dearborn Michigan.

“Stefan exemplifies the essence of the Arab America Foundation’s mission through his dedicated work in promoting Arab heritage and identity, both in Texas and on a national level,” said Warren David, Co-Founder of the Arab America Foundation, “His commitment to our community and his leadership make us a stronger organization, and we are honored to recognize him with the 2024 MVP Award.”

Stefan Ateek is a respected leader in both the academic and Arab-American communities. As an Associate Professor of Social Work at Collin College in Texas, he brings over 30 years of expertise, especially in developing and managing criminal justice programs. Ateek earned his Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) from the University of Texas in 1981.

Born in Nazareth, Ateek remains closely connected to his roots, frequently visiting and engaging with family and professional networks. He is the Texas Team Leader for the Arab America Foundation and a U.S. Ambassador for Nazareth Hospital. His community involvement extends to board memberships with organizations like Health Outreach to the Middle East, Arab American Friends of Nazareth, and the Mariam Foundation.

Ateek’s dedication has earned him multiple awards, including the “Christ-Like Award” from Health Outreach to the Middle East, the Trailblazer Award from the Arab America Foundation, and special recognition from Texas Senator Mike Moncrief. His work has also attracted support from prominent foundations such as Amon G. Carter and the Simons Family Foundation.

Ateek continues to impact the Arab-American community through his advocacy and leadership significantly.
