Introduction:
Did you know about the Middle Eastern rapper taking the internet by storm? Anees Mokhiber who goes by Anees the rapper started his music career when he was 15 years old. Anees identifies as a hip-hop indie-pop artist. Anees grew up on games such as Scramble and smart mouth, games that made you think on the spot and piece together words from just a couple of letters. Anees’ story is very inspirational. As a first-generation Arab, he grew up with the idea that he had to go to college and become a doctor or Lawyer. Anees followed through on this agenda, attending undergraduate and also attending Law School. Throughout his time in school, Anees would freestyle as a destresser. And after acquiring his law degree Anees realized that’s not what he loves or wants to do as a career. That’s when Anees began to practice music more and more and write lyrics that would eventually be published on all music streaming platforms.
Anees’ first song “Neverland Fly” is about his struggle with mental health and how he has overcome that phase in his life. Anees addresses mental health in such a great way through his music. Many people believe mental health should be dealt with professionally, but sometimes it just takes a relatable song to get through a hard time. Anees really portrays that through his music. After the success of “Neverland Fly”, Anees has been releasing songs ever so often each being a hit among his fans and gaining thousands of fans after each release.
