Al-Jazeera trial: Verdict 'sends dangerous message' - Amal Clooney
The conviction of three al-Jazeera journalists by an Egyptian court “sends a dangerous message”, a lawyer has warned.
Amal Clooney, who is representing Canadian-Egyptian Mohamed Fahmy, said that every third party who had looked at the evidence had concluded that there was “no evidence to sustain any of the charges”.
Fahmy, Egyptian Baher Mohamed and Australian Peter Greste, who was deported in February, deny accusations of “spreading false news”.
