ADC Michigan Launches 10th Anniversary Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Essay Contest
ADC Michigan is pleased to announce that its 10th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration and Scholarship Reception will be held on Friday, January 30, 2009 (location TBA).
As the only program of its kind in Michigan that works to bring together the Arab and African American communities, ADC hopes to continue to expand the MLK Scholarship Program.
The MLK Planning Committee has mailed out fliers to area high schools, announcing the criteria for writing an essay that should explain what the message of Martin Luther King means to each student participating. The deadline to submit essays for ADC’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship contest will be Friday, January 15, 2009.
Depending on the funding made available from various corporate and community sponsors, judges select a specific number of students to receive scholarship awards.
These students will then be honored at the community reception, which is set around Dr. King’s birthday. ADC Michigan urges all eligible students to participate in this unique program, which has achieved great success over the years. This year’s celebration is sure to be another great event!
