Here we see the match that took place between Egypt v. Zimbabwe. During the match at the 41 minute of the game, number 7, Mahmoud Hassan, helped Egypt gain the lead against Zimbabwe, with the 1-0 goal.
The face of victory for Hassan when he got the goal for the Egyptian Team.
Even though Egypt had took 16 shots, only nine of them ever made it towards the goal, only only one was able to secure a victory for the Egyptian team that night. Despite them being a good team, you can see the struggle and tension both teams had during the first match of the African Cup. This was not an easy game by any chance, although Egypt should been able to score more than one goal on the Zimbabwe team.
Even Mo Salah, the man who is destined to be the best football player in the world, had trouble trying to land some shots on goal, due to the first game jitters the team faced at the opener.

As you can see in the picture and in the video highlights, the amount of men that were on top of Salah, made it tough on him to try and score a goal. Even though he was able to mange it, and able to get the ball towards the goal, his luck during the game was not there.
An article from Soccer Laduma, mention how strong the Zimbabwe team was on Salah, and goes on to say how, ” Billiat and Karuru proved to be the Warriors’ biggest threat in the first half, but the Kaizer Chiefs man should have broken the deadlock seven minutes before the break when he was denied by Ahmed El-Shennawy in a one-on-one situation.”
The article also continues on by talking on Zimbabwe were making efforts to get shots on goal and how, “Zimbabwe were made to rue that miss moments later as Mahmoud Trezeguet cut onto his right to send a fine curling finish past a hapless Sibanda for the tournament’s opening goal.”
