Supermodels Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid were spotted in New York City protesting President Trump’s executive order on immigration this weekend.
The order, which temporary suspends the Syria refugee program and visa entry from seven Muslim-majority countries, sparked demonstrations across the country. Social media users shared pictures of the Hadid sisters attending a march on Sunday in New York City. They carried a sign that read, “We are all Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, Atheists, Christians, Jews.” Bella later posted a picture from the event on Instagram.
The models’ father, Mohamed Hadid, and Gigi’s boyfriend, Zayn Malik, are Muslims. While President Trump’s administration claimed the executive order wasn’t a “Muslim ban,” the order was widely criticized as discriminatory against those who practice Islam.
