Donald Trump, the presidential candidate known for his bombast and fiery and inflammatory words, will be a whole lot different than Donald Trump, 45th president of the U.S.

So say some of the folks who have been on the receiving end of some of Trump’s most searing words. I spoke with them after Trump shocked the world and beat Hillary Clinton.

Osama Siblani, publisher of the Arab American News, who sat with me election night at CBS62 studios and talked about results, watched as the blue armor enveloping Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and other Democratic enclaves changed to red.

After the dust settled, Siblani later told me, “I think Trump will act as a president in a more respectable way and will move to the center.”

“This country can’t be governed from the fringes,” Siblani added. “He will revisit his comments on Muslims and approach it in a more practical and acceptable way. I’m not concerned about policies as much I’m concerned about the climate of hate that has been cast on our community. “
