The American University in Cairo Announces Arabic High School Summer Program
Arabic High School Summer Program:
Where Language, Culture, Study and Entertainment Meet
The Program will help with obtaining a deeper knowledge of Arabic, enrich the understanding of contemporary Egypt, and give insights into the country’s role in the Arab world and Middle East.
Through a combination of coursework, community engagement, and excursions, learners will be able to experience the Arabic and Egyptian Culture like no student can.
Admission Requirements:
- Minimum completion of sophomore year of high school
- At least 16 years of age
- Minimum scores PSAT score of 155 or GPA of 3.5
- Two letters of recommendation from high school teachers attesting that the applicant has the maturity needed to join this international program
Program Features:
- Three-week Intensive, five-day per week Arabic program through AUC’s Department of Arabic Language Instruction earns learners three credit hours.
- Flexible schedule that includes visits to touristic sites in Egypt.
- Lectures and presentations about history, culture and politics in Egypt.
- Introduction to Egyptian cuisine, art, music and cultural events.
- Experiential field visits and activities to enhance Arabic language exposure.
Accommodation:
- Program participants stay in the University Residences on the AUC New Cairo campus.
- All meals are included.
