Arab American women have been vital in advocating for and empowering their community as well as in promoting social justice. Some Arab American organizations were specifically founded by and for women are dedicated to addressing the challenges faced by Arab women and celebrating their contributions to society. In this article I will list five notable and influential Arab American women’s groups.

1. Arab American Women’s Business Council (AAWBC)

Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Dearborn, MI, the Arab American Women’s Business Council focuses on empowering Arab-American women entrepreneurs. The council offers resources as well as mentorship and networking opportunities that are meant to help Arab American women overcome some of the many challenges faced by women in the business world. The AAWBC hosts workshops on business topics including marketing, finance, and leadership, which allows Arab women to develop their professional skills.

Through their creation of this environment made for women entrepreneurs, the AAWBC helps create a space for Arab women in business and promotes community. 2. National Arab American Women’s Association (NAAWA)
