Washington, DC – The National U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce welcomes the news that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2015 was awarded to the Tunisian Quartet. The Chamber is proud of its affiliation with one of the Quartet members, the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade, and Handicrafts (UTICA). NUSACC has organized a number of events recently to build bridges between U.S. and Tunisian businesses, including a September luncheon to introduce the new Tunisian Ambassador to the U.S. business community, a luncheon in May in honor of the Tunisian Ministers of Finance and Tourism, and a trade delegation to Tunisia in March.
TIME has just published an op-ed piece written by Gordon Gray, the Executive Vice President of the Chamber, on October 9. Ambassador (ret.) Gray served as Ambassador to Tunisia from 2009-2012. In his op-ed piece, Ambassador Gray praised the resilience of Tunisian society and expressed his confidence that Tunisia is on the right path.
